Alpenglow Native Nursery

Most how-to's, standard practices, and generally held beliefs about choosing and growing plants are based on the conditions in eastern states and in Europe, and have been passed down from years long gone. 

 

Let's come together as a gardening community of and in the Intermountain West. Here in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado, the soil is lean and pebbly, spring is short, and summers hot and dry. Oh, and winter. Enough said. 

 

To foster that Western landscaping and gardening community, Alpenglow Native Nursery aims to be a meeting place for resources and real-time experiences particular to the western region, and plants suited for the climate. 

 

In addition to place-based landscaping, we focus on ecological gardening, also called wildlife, habitat, or natural gardening. Alpenglow Native Nursery is a source for native plants, which birds, insects, and other wildlife depends on for food, shelter, and reproducing. 

 

We provide plants that are native to Montana, the region, or to the United States. We also offer plants that may not be native but can play an important role in a self-sustaining habitat landscape.
